You Si`s emphasis on depicting a tranquil inner reality-but one that never loses its sense of tension with an outer reality-might be his only connection to classical Chinese aesthetics.Otherwise they seem to completely abandon China-specific reference points.These abstract forms alternately resemble bustling mitochondria,dense jungles and inter-dimensional wormholes. They often capture the symphonic trance of organisms moving together,and against each other,suggesting cycles of birth and destruction.
