As one of the representative personages of the Hong Kong visual artists, Susie Au has been concerning and exploring the image experiment, the unspeakable inner strength and expressive possibilities being her unspoken but repeatedly explored subject on the creative process. She likes to call herself an image artist, experimenting images in different media, finding mysteries of everything in different forms and exploring inner concealed compartments of people in swinging, especially women.
Susie first guided the film "Ming Ming" in 2006, in which Zhou Xun was the protagonist. This film is a mirror of Susie, and is different latitude from which she explores the relationship between being women and the world, each reflecting her new side. At the same time, she also injects creativity, fashion and fresh concept into artist images, including Wang Fei, Shu qi, Fan Xiaoxuan, Zhou Xun, Quan Zhixian, Xu Xidi, Yao Chen and other female stars. Artists are constantly exploring different charms of women from various latitudes in MVs, movies and advertisements.
From the presence of image visualization in early stage to the deep exploration of culture psychology and societal unconscious, Susie has been digging the improvisation and instability in the process of advancing visual arts, and searching for the equilibrium point of tension among the mixed and abundant images.
