EXHIBITION SYNOPSIS
About Super Generation@TaiwanThis is the first time an exhibition has been brought overseas since Museum of Contemporary Art Taipei (MOCA) opened eight years ago. This is different from the traditional exchange of gallery exhibition that uses its collection as a main theme. What is expected to express in “The Taiwan’s New Generation Art Exhibition” is the “live the moment” spirit and state of modern art, constantly advanced thoughts, and repeatedly ongoing debates...Most importantly, the exhibited content which is intended to make viewers mutually share and request ideas is not confined to a fixed set of art standard. Instead, it presents a Taiwan’s artist group and a cultural phenomenon of a particular era that are still under development.
To organize his or her work in a concise form, the scheme of the exhibition begins from an individual artist’s narrow view. Also, this helps indicate the different creating qualities of the Taiwanese artists born in 70s and 80s. Meanwhile, with a broad view, the structure of the group exhibition has been established. By using a technique of a multiple-level contrast, the present condition of contemporary art in Taiwan has been described inclusively. Similar to the “De-centralized” concept of Postmodernism, the idea of the exhibition is to make every participating artist a key topic. Every participating work has represented a new phase of Taiwan’s new generation art. With the creating materials, expressing techniques, and concerned issues, the thirty-two artist groups have clearly shown the lively and diverse creating environment and the tendency to express their art through various fields.
