EXHIBITION SYNOPSIS
About Bodhi - Tibetan Paintings by the Students of Plateau Sunshine Vocational School for Disabled PersonsBB Gallery will be having a new exhibition “Bodhi — Tibetan Paintings by the Students of Plateau Sunshine Vocational School for Disabled Persons” on August 1—15, 2010. The opening reception at 3:00pm on July 31 will be emceed by Li Han, the famous singer and Good-Will Ambassador in the Chinese Region of the World Children Fund. This exhibition is non-profit; all money from the charity sale will be donated to the School.
Plateau Sunshine Vocational School for Disabled Persons, located in Seda County of Sichuan Province, was founded by Mr. Gujha Cicheng in 2007 with his personal savings of 2,500,000 RMB. This is the first welfare boarding school for disabled persons in the Tibetan region in China. The School now has 22 students (between age 14-24), and is planning to accept 20 more disabled students from the Yushu Earthquake. The School offers courses in psychology, Buddhism studies, Tibetan ideological cultivation, Tibetan and Chinese languages, math, and painting. All the beautiful artworks exhibited this time are created by the students from the School, which express their wishes and hopes for a better tomorrow.
